Crazy Thought I've Already Forgotten
I don’t know Vladimir Putin, personally, but I had this crazy thought. What if he had Prigozhin assassinated?
Yes, it sounds crazy. I mean, all I know about Putin comes from the alarmist New York Times or when John Oliver or SNL made fun of him for being Trump’s boyfriend or something. I know he was once in the KGB, a sinister Soviet organization of ruthless spies (full disclosure: I’ve watched the first eight episodes of “The Americans.”) Then, there’s Ukraine.
Anyhow, when Putin kept silent on the crash of a private plane with 10 aboard, including Prigozhin, the mercenary Wagner group’s head who staged an aborted mutiny against Russia’s military leadership in June, a lightbulb went off.
What if- and I know this sounds INSANE- Putin ordered the plane to be brought down, luring Prigozhin and company onto it before implementing the “make it look like an accident” tactics learned in his KGB training? I know what you’re thinking! Laura, you are constructing a conspiracy theory based on an old TV show and left-leaning news curated specifically for you on your phone.
Then I start thinking, but what if I’m right?
On second thought, forget I said anything. I already have. I swear.
