Happiness
I have spent much of my life thinking of happiness as a conditional state; a fixed “if, then,” goal as motivating as any mirage in the desert.
But the fact is, if you’re always striving or bargaining your way toward happiness as monolith you miss the truth- that happiness is made up of the glimmers that populate everyday life.
Trust me, I know how to overlook happiness. Too often these strange days, all I can think about is trying to get my loved ones to a safer, more moral country, hermetically sealed up in a State of Happiness.
Then, a couple of days ago, I listened as my daughter and son talked about new business ideas they were exploring and their kids’ bumpy adjustments to starting school, and it hit me that not everyone thinks this is the end of the world as we know it, but fall, 2025.
For me, I have been shouting about the sky falling for so long that a patch of blue reads like a hoax, but existence has never been a single brush stroke. The universe is vast, and hopeful. We spin in the dark. We circle the sun.

In the hardest of times it's good to remember that darkness doesn't exist without light. 💡 As difficult as it sometimes is, we need to consciously notice the light (whether sliver or glaring). The things that lift our spirit and feed our soul. ❤️
